Sourya Sen

Bio

Sourya Sen is an audiovisual artist, creative technologist as well as a video editor and motion graphics artist. His work spans audiovisual performances, music compositions, standalone installations, instrument development and video post production. He holds a masters degree in New Media Design and Production from Aalto University, Finland and has presented creative technology projects at various conferences as well as published in academic journals like the EAI Endorsed Transactions on Creative Technologies, New Interfaces for Musical Expression (NIME), and Sound, Image and Interactive Design Symposium (SIIDS).

His audiovisual and musical practises use a combination of modular synthesisers and generative and experimental approaches. He has performed at various festivals and events including LPM, Kontula Festival, Generate and Eyemyth, and has released music both independently and under the Chinabot and Social Isolation labels. His latest release, Signs Of Life, was published as an audiovisual project, a standalone experimental film and an eponymous EP.

As a professional in the video post production industry, he has also worked on award winning music videos and advertising campaigns. These include editing Madame Gandhi’s Waiting for Me (SXSW Best Music Video 2021) and motion graphics for Bumble’s Love Will Find a Way (Blue Elephant, 2021 Kyoorius Creative Awards). In the past, he has also been part of the post production team of projects like The Dewarists and MTV Sound Trippin’.

Finally, he has also created and performed live visuals at festivals like Magnetic Fields, Bacardi NH7 Weekender and Pettah Interchange and was featured as a live visuals artist on MTV’s Krunk Live Sessions with collaborative projects with Madboy/Mink and Your Chin.
